Shaped Card--A Krafty Girls Challenge

Happy Tuesday!
Are you guys ready for another fun challenge starting today at Krafty Girls?

For challenge #13, we want you to show us a shaped card.
See, I told you it was fun ;)

I decided to pull out my gypsy and my Create A Critter cricut cartridge
and make this cute little skunk card.

Isn't she cute?
I sized her in my gypsy at 5". After all the layers were cut and she was assembled, I added some doodling around her and added a cute little flower in her hair. The sign that she is holding was done free hand. The sentiment is a stamp from Joy's Life.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

Thanks A Melon

Happy Thursday!
This week, the Joy's Life Design Team has been showing you projects made using tins.

I decided to make a cute little tin to use as a thank you gift.

Here is a view from the top:

My little watermelon was cut from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge at .75".
The scallop circle is from the Classic Scallop Circles spellbinders die and the circle are from circle punches. I layered those all together and just popped up the watermelon with some foam adhesive.

I filled the tin with some watermelon Sour Patch gummy candies and this sentiment from Yummy Puns tied it all together wonderfully:

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere

Happy Friday!

This week, the Joy's Life Design Team has been showing you shaped cards.

I decided to make a fun little drink shaped card. I welded the glass together in my gypsy using the Pack Your Bags Cricut Cartridge. The top layer was cut out at 5.5"

I added a little paper flower from Recollections and added some bling to the center. I also used some dazzling diamonds glitter to the lime wedge.

This sentiment is adorable and is one of my favorites in the new set by Joy called

and here is the card that I created based on the sketch:

I have a really hard time creating masculine cards, so I challenged myself to make one to give to my hubby based on the sketch. It still just doesn't look right to me without a bow or glitter, haha! All in all I am pretty pleased with how it turned out and I'm sure my hubby is going to love it.

A 3D Project---A Krafty Girls Challenge

Happy Tuesday!
Are you guys ready for another awesome challenge starting today at

Challenge #12 is all about 3D paper projects.
All you have to do is create a 3D paper project, how easy and fun is that?
I decided to make a little gift box filled with candy to give to someone to cheer them up a little and maybe put a smile on their face.

I cut my box out of the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 Cricut cartridge. It was cut out at 9". I cut it out twice so that I could have the top flap be in the coordinating paper. I simply cut off the flap on my second box and adhered it to my plaid box. I stamped my sentiment and then used my spellbinders dies to die cut that out and adhered that to the front. I offset my sentiment a little so that I could add that pretty little flower. The flower came from the Flower Shoppe cricut cartridge and I cut that out at 2.75". I added some sheer ribbon for the closure and some pretty little pearls in each of the corners. I think it came out so pretty! Although I have to admit, my eyes keep going to the candy haha!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

Recipe For Fun Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday!
Welcome to the Recipe For Fun Blog Hop!

If you got here from the super talented Super Joy, then you are in the right spot.
If you just happened to stumble across the hop on my blog today and would like to start at the beginning, hop on over and see Joy at Joy's Life.

For my project, I decided to make a little Ice Cream Sundae Toppings Bar.
It has been so hot lately so I figured what better way to cool off then with some ice cream after dinner. To make it extra fun, everybody gets to add whatever toppings they would like to their own ice cream.

*You can click on the pictures to enlarge them*

My family was so happy to see this little "spread" all set up after dinner. It was so easy to do and pretty cheap also. The little purple "ice cream pails" are from the dollar store and came 2 in a pack. I don't think they were originally made for ice cream sundaes but they worked perfectly!  The little glass bowls that I put the toppings in also came from the dollar store and each pack had 2 glass bowls in it. All I did was buy some toppings and set everything up on a little table by the dining room.

I made this little centerpiece for the Ice Cream Sundae Topping Bar:

All I did was cut out some ice cream cones from the Doodlecharms cricut cartridge at 3" and attached them to some bamboo skewers. I arranged everything into a foam block. Each skewer also has some curling ribbon attached to it to fill it up the spaces a little. I stamped out my sentiment and used my labels 4 spellbinders to cut it out and also attached that to a skewer and put it front and center.

Isn't that sentiment awesome for a sundae party?

Here is a picture of one of the finished sundaes:

Yum!

What's a blog hop without a little candy?
I am going to pick one lucky person to receive this awesome 6x6 paper pad from Teresa Collins.

Hello Sunshine!

Happy Friday!

This week, the Joy's Life Design Team has been showing you projects using the new Pun In The Sun stamp set from Joy's Life.

I decided to make a card to send to my daughter while she is at college. She is still home for the summer but will be heading back soon so it's time for me to start creating cards to have on hand to send to her. Since I will be mailing this, I kept it pretty flat.

I cut my sun out of the Create A Critter cricut cartridge at 4.5". I added it behind the strip of patterned paper and added a little bit of lace across the front of the card. The picture doesn't show it too well but the patterned paper is very glittery. Perfect for a sunny project :)

As soon as I saw this sentiment in this set, I knew I had to use it right away!
It is one of my favorite phrases and I say it all the time, hehe!

A Surprise Is In Store For You

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are all having a great weekend so far :)

This week the Joy's Life Design Team is showing you 3D projects that incorporate those awesome Joy's Life stamps.

I decided to make a cute little store front box with a muffin inside for gift giving.

Here is the front view:

The side:

The back:

I used my Sweet Tooth Boxes cricut cartridge to cut out my store. It was cut out at 10". I added some cute little pearl flowers and my windows have some clear cardstock attached to the inside of the box so that nothing falls out. My cupcake holder, or in this case, my muffin holder was cut from the Life's A Party cricut cartridge at 2.25". Sadly, the muffins that I attempted to make did not come out pretty enough for a picture so I cheated a little and bought a muffin haha! Baking and I don't get along very well unless it is cookies ;)

For my store front sign, I decided to use this cute little stamp from the Tag You're It Set One set from Joy's Life:

Super cute!

A Splash Of Color---A Krafty Girls Challenge

Hi Everyone!
Happy Tuesday!
Are you guys ready for another awesome challenge starting today at

Challenge #11 is all about a Splash of Color---Create a paper project that is black and white and just a pop or splash of one other color.

I decided to make a card that I can send anytime of the year for my project.

I love bees. At least the cute paper ones, the real ones...not so much. haha!

For my card, I created a portrait style card base and added a black layer and then the top white layer. I used a border punch along the bottom of my top layer and dry embossed the top portion of the card with my cuttlebug. I stamped my sentiment and added a cute black and white polka dot ribbon bow and then attached it to my card base. My bee was cut out of the Sentimentals cricut cartridge at 2.5" and popped it up with some foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation! I really appreciate it! Don't forget to stop by the Krafty Girls blog to see more inspiration from the design team! I hope you will join us and enter the challenge, I look forward to seeing what you create!

Sweet Summertime Wishes!

Hello and Happy July 1!
This summer seems to be flying by!
This week the Joy's Life Design Team is welcoming summer by showing you projects made with those super fun summer colors of orange, turquoise and yellow.

I decided to make a card for my project:

Nothing say summer more than those brightly colored tropical shirts right? ;)
I cut my shirt out of the Pack Your Bags cricut cartridge at 4". I popped it up on my card base with some foam adhesive and added some glossy accents to the leaves and collar for some added dimension. I did some faux stitching all around the card base and then added my favorite sentiment from the Sweet Popsicle Puns stamp set from Joy's Life Stamps.

For more summer color inspiration, be sure to check out what the design team has come up with on the Joy's Life DT Blog!
